This tournament is dedicated to the days when a trout over 6 pounds was called a Gator. I will always remember the day, in front of our house at the Haulover Canal, when I caught a 14 lb. 6 oz. Gator Trout. I was 10 years old and it is still my all time record. My dad and I excitedly took it into a store in Titusville to weigh it. We had heard that there was a tournament going on and I wanted to enter my fish. As it turned out, it was the wrong place, so I didn't win the boat and motor. However,we did eat my trophy that night! I never caught one bigger, but maybe you will this time!
Another thing that makes this event so special is the relaxed event rules. We are promoting good sportsmanship, but the emphasis will be on staying true to our famous motto, "JB's Fish Camp; Where Fun Is Legal" and that is our theme for this exciting day of great fishing.
No boat will be necessary, so no shotgun start. Starting at safe light on Friday, the 17th till 2 pm weigh in. Fishing by any legal means will be allowed. As always, spectators are encouraged to come down here and watch the show!
